Evening dresses are a good thing to buy vintage. Generally they weren’t worn as often, so remain in pretty good condition, and you won’t want to be wearing them all the time either, so the stress that a 70 or 80 year old dress is put under isn’t as great as with every day wear.
This beautiful 1940s gown is a perfect example. Cheaper than most of the brand new dresses I’ve posted this week, you’re guaranteed (apart from extreme coincidences) not to be wearing the same dress as anyone else, and it’s beautiful!
You’ll need to look for your right size of course, this one is small on the bust at 34″, but with a larger 30″ waist, but even with some alterations it could still be cheaper than new, and far more unique.
